Police Investigating Two Tonawanda Shooting Deaths
BUFFALO (wned) - Town of Tonawanda police spent part of Sunday attempting to keep the peace in the neighborhood which endured the town's second shooting death in a two-day span.
With police restricting traffic to the area, 150 friends and family members held a candlelight vigil Sunday night on Burns Street where 25-year old Michael Santiago was killed just 24 hours earlier.
Less than two miles away, 32-year old Thomas Newton was shot and killed on Friday night in front of his duplex residence on Henderson Avenue.
Police have indicated that the shootings are not related. They are asking the public to assist by calling in information to 879-6613.
