CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) - A vision of two communities joining together became reality today in Cheektowaga. The ribbon was cut of "The Stop The Violence Foundation Community Center" off Cleveland Drive, just one block from the Cheektowaga-Buffalo border.
The Foundations Bishop, Perry Davis, says the location is by design, to provide the most people with a chance to live a better life.
Davis said, "I feel that it's time to stop talking about stopping the violence, and start doing something about it. With the community center here, it's a step in the right direction of actually making a difference in people lives."
Young people will be able to do their homework there and take part in other activities to discourage violence in both Cheektowaga and Buffalo.
